2021 PROCYCLING RACE TEAM SPONSORS
THANK YOU TO OUR 2021 RACE TEAM SPONSORS
Here at Pro Cycling we've had a shop team for almost 17 years and each year between the sponsors and the riders, the team has been getting better and better. Over the past 14 years the number of disciplines entered by Pro Cycling athletes have increased and so have the number of podium spots grabbed by Pro Cycling athletes. Team members have been competing on the regional, national and international stages and we cannot thank our athletes enough for the positive recognition they bring to our stores, whether it's on the trail, at the coffee shop or at an event.
We wouldn't be able to provide for our athletes in the way that we do without the outstanding support from our Sponsors, and for this we are very grateful for what they bring to the table. We are fortunate that local companies such as Colorado Springs Orthopedic Group, Urological Associates, Navaki and Porsche of Colorado Springs have chosen to be a part of the Pro Cycling Mountain Bike Race Team.

COLORADO SPRINGS ORTHOPAEDIC GROUP
In 1994, three individual orthopedic practices merged to form Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group as it is today. Taking into account the history and experience of the three groups, you could say that we have been serving the residents and military families of Colorado Springs for well over 50 years. Our group was built upon a set of core values that we believe reflect our culture and commitment to our patients.
EXPERIENCE. We use our collective experience to offer the broadest range of treatments available.
TEAM WORK. Our treatment is based on collaboration and teamwork.
COMMUNICATION. We pride ourselves on having great communication skills.
INTEGRITY. We promise to provide ethical care and act with integrity.
COMMUNITY SERVICE. We believe in giving back through service to our community.
UROLOGICAL ASSOCIATES, P.C.
Urological Associates was started over fifty years ago by Colorado Springs native, Dr. Oliver Campbell. Upon the completion of his urological residency, Dr. Campbell decided to return to Colorado Springs where his father was a practicing general surgeon. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and finished his urology training at the University of Colorado. He began practice in 1969 and was joined after a few years by Dr. James Clark, a graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
The 1980s brought the addition of 3 new surgeons to handle the ever-increasing demand for urology care. In 1983 Dr. Patrick Faricy, a Colorado native, joined the group after serving in the Air Force and practicing for a short time in Wyoming. Dr. Faricy has been a tremendous leader in this community ever since and in 2012 left the practice to become the Chief Medical Officer at Memorial Health System. Dr. Kent Thayer, a Navy Vietnam era veteran, joined the group in 1986 when Dr. Clark moved to Utah. Dr. Thayer trained with Dr. Faricy at the University of Colorado and then practiced with him in Wyoming before coming to Colorado Springs. Dr. Elliot Cohn was the final addition in the 1980’s upon the retirement of Dr. Campbell (the founder) in 1989. He was fresh out of medical training at the University of Kansas.
Navakai was founded in 2001 by Shawn Morland and Davin Neubacher. The lads first met while working together at a local internet service provider. Shawn was a Sales Engineer, and Davin, in Business Development. They soon realized the IT industry was falling short in three critical areas: 1) customer service – there was too much focus on the technology and not the person using it, 2) specialized expertise – lots of “jacks of all trades” were out there learning on the customer’s dime, and 3) standardization – IT environments varied as much as the person in charge of them. This created a perfect storm of unnecessary spending, unreliable and unsecure networks, and continued dissatisfaction with both service providers and in-house IT staff. (Yep, it also created a fantastic opportunity for Shawn and Davin.)
So after a few meetings (with notes on a handful of cocktail napkins, of course), the decision was made to start a company founded on the simple belief that “We can do better.”

THE MANITOU MOUNTAIN MONSTERS
Manitou Mountain Monsters MTB Club is a cycling club for middle and high school students based out of Manitou Springs, CO. Our Season runs from April to November with riding starting in June. We want to share our passion for riding bikes with you! We strive to build strong bodies, minds and character, and to create a life-long love for cycling and a sense of adventure for life!
Our organization is run through NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) who provides insurance for our team, and hosts and creates race venues throughout Colorado. Unlike many other local programs, we accept and coach middle school students beginner to advanced. In contrast to most sports, we don’t have gender specific teams or tryouts; there is no “sitting on the bench”. Everyone who registers is part of the team!
Manitou Monsters are 50% female 50% male and the largest NICA team in the Colorado Springs area.
We teach students how to perform bike skills and basic bike repairs and to improve physical fitness while having fun. In addition, students learn sportsmanship and mutual respect, while creating strong and long lasting friendships.
The Manitou Mountain Monsters coaches and ride leaders are highly experienced and give the team positive encouragement. All of our coaches and ride leaders go through background checks, First Aid training, Concussion and Risk Management training, and have taken several Wilderness First Aid classes.
We have the opportunity to ride in amazing places like Red Rocks Open Space, Stratton Open Space, Ute Valley Park, Bear Creek Park, and more. While NICA races are only for high school students, they do offer a pre-ride the day before and the morning of race day for anybody to ride, high school or middle school students. The races offer an awesome way to explore new courses and other areas of the state.
CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL MOUNTAIN BIKE TEAM
Started in 2009 with 7 high school mountain bike athletes, the Cheyenne Mountain High School Mountain Bike Team has grown in 2018 to more than 35 riders. Embracing the Colorado League National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) motto of
“building strong minds, bodies, and character one pedal stroke at a time”, the team includes girls, boys, parents, volunteers, NICA-certified coaches, and generous local sponsors.
Led by Coaches Larry DeWitt, Doug Bursnall and Paul Cavendar, team volunteers contributed 98 hours to race weekends and enthusiastically participated in weekend spirit contests. Open to riders of all abilities, teammates are vocal supporters of all teams and riders on the racecourse, celebrating everyone’s personal accomplishments. The team contributes time to local non-profits such as Kids on Bikes, and trail maintenance, giving back to the community.
